Marital bliss

Today sadie from Fistful of Fortnights is tying the proverbial knot. For all the whining, bitching and moaning (most of it in the name of humor) I can honestly say I wouldn’t trade the joys of married life for anything in the world. There’s not a better feeling in the world than knowing no matter how bad my day has been the missus will be there. It’s a comforting feeling to know that if I go off on a tangent of self pity the missus will call me out; however if the tangent is justified she somehow always knows the right things to say.

I’ll offer one bit of advice to the Lad (sadie's soon to be husband). If you go with traditional vows get the obey part in writing. The missus and I hadn't made it out of the church parking lot before she'd already forgotten what I deemed the most important part of the vows.

I agree with your sentiments, except that there is one slightly better feeling ... having the wife, daughter, and dogs all there :)

And my wife didn't even do the obey part ...

I didn't do the obey part either . . . big surprise huh? But it is comforting to go home to a wonderful spouse and my beautiful child.

Also, when she's upset, just hold her. Don't try to solve her problem unless she explicitly asks.

Of all the many joys of bachelorhood, I think he'll miss carrot cake the most.

The Priest said for me to repeat, "love, honor and obey," and I said, "love, honor, and be obeyed." ;)
